BLK Brilliance "Poetic JustUs 3:33"

Nashville’s own emerging recording artist, BLK Brilliance, releases the highly intense, emotionally packed rap album “Poetic JustUs 3:33”. Our artist describes the album as inspired by his past and current events in time and space.

“The title speaks for itself. 3:33 Mind-Body-Spirit. When all of them aligned for me, this album is what came out of it.” -BLK Briliiance

“PJ333Intro” is a 40 second introduction with a meaning far beyond just the wording itself. No instruments, no music, just a brief interview that brings about light on racism. Our interviewee states “The planet don’t gotta go out and kill blacks no more – we just drop off some liquor in their town, and some guns, and they do it themselves” The irony of it all is at the end of the interview, when the interviewer goes on to ask a final question. “What is the most important thing in your life?” To which our interviewee answers, “To never turn my back on God, he’ll always be there for me.”

With the clever amount of wordplay in this piece, you will really need to pay close attention while listening to “SomeHow”. Drawing you in from the start, BLK Brilliance starts to slowly unravel a captivating story about a tragic life event he has faced. Regarding finding out about schizophrenia, finding out about a friend’s death, while almost committing suicide soon after.  Regardless of his life struggles, he makes sure to include that he never lets go of his faith. “Listen – I said temple, hope you caught that. Cause I go in it, talk to God til’ he start talking back.”

“Prayers Of A Jungle Dweller” has an ambient flow in the beginning, blending rich piano chords with a soft array of vocal accompaniment. The Nashville rapper gets deep in this track, expressing every opportunity he is grateful. A standout statement – “Peace of mind more valuable than diamonds, time more valuable than gold” reminds us that material is not wealth, health is wealth.

Another one drawing you in from the beginning, this one is sure to leave you inspired. “Just Us 333” is a song about understanding self-worth.

“Skeletons droppin’, melanin poppin’, the opposition watching.” “If you a shooter put your aim on what your heart desires. Even your hater gotta get inspired. That’s fire.”

The lyrics alone will leave goosebumps while you listen, as B.L.K. Brilliance dives further into this truly phenomenal piece.

“The Chains Within” is another track with a beautiful piano and vocal accompany.

The song is about being free from the “chains” of a struggled life. Pulling heartstrings right from the first verse – “Repainting a picture until it resembles the love that I see in my kids”, the Nashville rapper gets personal as he shares in detail of who he is working hard to become.

The last two tracks off of the album feature the acapella version of “Somehow” and “B.L.K. (The Anthem)”.  Without the distraction of any instruments, you can really focus all of your attention on the message of the songs. Acapella allows a deeper, more raw, and emotional connection to the piece. You can really feel the power of each verse from our Nashville based emerging artist. A truly creative way to end a powerful album.
