Mr Jones "Long Time Coming"

With his debut album released in July this Manchester, UK recording artist Mr. Jones has been penning and honing his skills for 20 years before finally letting the levies break on “Long Time Coming”.

This emerging artist managed to features Eminem’s group mate and chum D12’s Bizarre

This Hip Hop artist infuses a old school calculated cadence inspired by the likes of Eminem. As you can imagine with 20 years of sharpening his talent Mr. Jones had a lot to offer on his 12 track debut.

“Hey!” initiates the album on a friendly hypnotic beat that reels you in from the onset. Mr. Jones approaches this up-tempo rhythm with a catchy hook “I’m eating diamonds for breakfast and I’m shinning all day hey, it’s Mr. Jones tell me what you gonna say, hey” . With emphatic statements to bring rap back this is a stand out on the album prepping the audience for what’s to come.

“Cancer Man” is backed by a dark space instrumental track that find the Manchester, UK artist detailing his personality traits adjacent to his horoscope while trying to find a compatible match.

“Outta Space” brings the raw aesthetic Hip Hop energy back into focus. Unleashing sure fire bars tying in astrology references to make this a stand out moment.

“On Tour” follows suit with a production style that would have you nodding along. “Darkness Falls”, “Fake It Till I Make It”, and “Moon of My Sky” is strategically sequenced as the album takes on a more sober turn. These three recording in particular all feature a more underground raw dingy sound. With the latter “Moon of My Sky” catering more towards his love interest.

“Sex in the City” features the D12 member Bizarre and takes a complete turn from the previous track. Mr. Jones is in quite a one elevating the metaphors, and quips. Bizarre offers an amazing guest appearance with great banter, and comedic relief to match the jovial energy embodied in this recording.

“Dreams” and “Endless Summer” are two pivotal recording on this album that unveils more of Mr. Jones struggles and triumphs. With the latter being dedicated to his daughter after going through his divorce.

With a atomospheric airy groove Mr. Jones closing the album as he started it with an infectious beat and hard hitting punchlines on “Never Looking Back”. A statement that suggest after his “Long Time Coming” debut he’s never going back to training day it’s one the main stage from here on out.

Mr. Jones attention to detail and his aesthetic quality can be appreciated throughout the album. The production lends itself to form a cohesive body of work that meanders smoothly. With his follow up "No Time to Waste" on the horizon “Long Time Coming” is equipped with enough jams to last you until then.
