Lorenzo Gabanizza "Someone Waiting At Their Door"

Italy based country artist, Lorenzo Gabanizza, releases his successful EP, “Someone Waiting At Their Door”. The tenured artist worked with the Grammy nominated Don Tyler, who previously worked for Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Neil Diamond on the mastering of this new release. These three admirable pieces each tell their own tale of love, tragedy, and uplifting while traversing on a higher spiritual journey. One can easily identify with the fervent emotions being espoused as the listener is treated to a cathartic experience with sweet melodies that serenades.

“Someone Waiting At Their Door” is a sentimental tribute commemorating the victims of September 11th. This recording is a virtual embrace to all those who lost their life in that awful day and to their families suffering that loss. The divine instrumentation takes you through a blissful listening experience as we are presented with the sweet sound of violin and banjo beautifully blended together. In this piece, you can hear a story being told throughout each verse – each one representing a sorrowful event in time leading up to words of encouragement. “All the tears can’t replace all the waste of those lives, but the pain breaking our hearts cannot move love away.” In this, the singer gracefully enlightens us, saying that no matter the tragedy, we will always have love in our hearts.

“It’s Been” keeps the country spirit going with its fun, high-spirited tempo. Although, the instrumental expresses joy, the interpretation of the track is actually quite the opposite.  In this piece, our emerging artist, Lorenzo, expresses a story about a long, depressing winter without companionship as his lover is absent from him. “It’s been a frozen winter, and you’re not here tonight.” With its catchy chorus and toe-tapping melody, this is most definitely another enjoyable piece from the album.

The singer’s cover of Donovan’s “To Sing For You” takes us back to a softer ballad. At first listen, you can find yourself immediately drawn into the melodious piece as the singer’s comforting lyrics and angelic voice capture the essence of a selfless companion. The cover includes a change in tempo and a beautiful harmonica solo playing throughout, followed with a soft guitar accompaniment. Ending off with the sweet, captivating chorus singing, “Search out to me with your weary eyes” and “I sing a song for you. That’s what I’m here to do – to sing for you.”

Lorenzo did a wonderful job in the release of his EP, “Someone Waiting At Their Door”. It was filled with much emotion and astonishing storytelling, pulling us right in with its ardent lyrics and mellifluent sounds. An amazing singer and songwriter, Lorenzo is sure to capture anyone’s attention with his music. On the fiddle, the Grammy winner Ian Cameron. The cover art was made by Tobe A Roberts and EP produced by Lorenzo Gabanizza and George Lee. Label, Italian Way Music."
