Popmfs “More Heavy Artillery”

The introduction is an emphatic public service announcement. As stated in the opening line “They like Pop where you been, I been stacking money, f***k friends... Always keep it hundred, been frank”. Backed, with triumphant production influenced heavily by the West Coast aesthetic in this initial offering Popmfs spearheads the album with charisma and stinging quips. The production throughout this album is reminiscent of instruments and elements that dominated through the 2000s. Big cinematic production and orchestral elements following his predecessor Young Jeezy, and Shawty Lo. High key piano licks, big brass bass sections filling up the lower end, making the recordings more epic, and suspenseful.

The Columbus, Georgia artist has a hypnotic delivery, captivating presence, and straightforward lyrically approach holding no punches. The sound is heavily rooted in the southern ethos. This endemic sound has Popmfs in his element as he flourishes on notable tracks such as “ATM”, “Grinding Hard”, & “Jump Out”. Other notables to consider “Where Ya Been”, and “Georgia Tech”. Popmfs pulls off capturing the essence of his aforementioned pioneers “Thug Motivation 101” and “Units in the City” respectfully on his January 2019 release titled “More Heavy Artillery”. Popmfs revitalizes the theatric sound that brought his region prominence.

The records on this album are energetic, fervent, and opulent. While this album is devoid of depth and diversity, it flourishes in consistency, weaving a concept together from beginning to completion. Also, sonically displaying cohesion with the production selection making for a seamless flow.

Popmfs choice of artillery is motivation offering inspirational themes to drive you to excel in your path of life. The reoccurring theme is centered around building wealth, or rather narrowing your focus on gaining capital. Centralized collateral, should be on everyone’s agenda Popmfs’s weapon is comprised of money exchange and acquisition, the metrics for success. Popmfs uses each track as a bullet point offering a road map to acquiring wealth. This album is the restoration of the colossal southern sound.
