Review: Gliffo “The Island Of Tears” (Prod. J. Sieghart)

Island of tears doesn’t sound like a desirable destination until you hear this captivating new record by Gliffo. Vocals in the opening purportedly are narrated by a pirate ushering you into the island as you begin your convoy on this rhythmic journey on the island of tears. This island reggae inspired fusion produced by Jorg Sieghart and Gliffo sets a mood coupled with guitars riffs that’s reminiscent of popular 70 pop rock bands like Sting.

The song as an alluring backstory derived from a folklore about divers, and watches, on an Italian island (Island Of Tears) near Venice. You whistle a melody in your smartphone and a couple of months later you hit the charts! How astonishing is that. Gliffo whistled this melody in his smartphone and sent it to a friend in Berlin who happens to be a music producer. His friend spotted the catchiness of the melody, completed it and created in cooperation with the artist a rock/pop arrangement with interesting guitar licks and two house remixes for the dance floor.

Reaching the #1 spot in four different categories on the German Amazon’s Charts, German artist Gliffo has already proven to reach some impressive feats with his second single “Island of Tears”. Despite, the title of this track this single is boisterous, upbeat, and dense in positive messaging. The reggae influences are eminent accompanied by the guitar licks which flows seamlessly. Gliffo approaches the track displaying some rhyming ability a cool cadence, and some storytelling rapping if you will.

Gliffo and producer Jorg Sieghart display their adroit musicality with the arrangement of the song. The sequencing is masterfully cultivated. The manner in which the song is written, in addition to featuring background singers, gives off the impression of a musical. A whimsical fun filled voyage narrated by Gliffo making it a dynamic and intriguing listening experience.

Snagging, another top ten spot previously with their single “Get The Sun In Your Head” releases in April on the Italian Amazon Download Charts. A pop friendly reggae tune similar to the many classics of yesteryear. Gliffo has something reputable to offer with his “Island of Tears”. One can surmise that the island of tears is a place where one ultimately must confront in order to achieve success or happiness. One must be willing to muster up the courage to dive in the deep waters of fear, and reach in the depths to truly uncover their most valuable hidden treasures.
