Camari “Boys Dont Cry”

“Boys Don’t Cry” signifies why Camari’s heart is so cold. Traumatized from past experiences, the now hardened New Jersey native unleashes a barrage of disparaging quips aimed at all those responsible for his heartbreak. Redemptive, and under the influence of pain, , and substances, Camari indulges and holds no punches. The New Jersey artist produces a plethora of drug induced records. The music is sonically spacey and melancholy, providing soundscapes for a sedated environment. “Boys Don’t Cry” is equipped with quirky bars, and drug friendly lyrics from an agnostic point of view.

The production is somber, sinister and viscerally aligned to Camari’s lyrical approach and imagery. The instrumentation and arrangements varies but throughout the project you hear thoughts of a reclusive individual. Artistically free in form offering peculiar transitions throughout the album making it unique and distinct. As a listener you can appreciate the sense of authenticity Camari displays. The thoughts perceived by him are communicated with no filter. Exactly, what’s uttered on the microphone is how he feels and that’s transposed for the world to absorb.

The cryptic clip is a precursor to “Lines” the opening song which is driven by spacey synths, cinematic soundbites, fine tuned 808s, and blunt innuendo. These vague clips are ubiquitous throughout the project reinforcing a theme. The intro track encapsulates the tranquil, yet eccentric journey the listener is set to embark on. With cool vocal alterations, low pitched dubbed vocals. The personification of this drug friendly world Camari’s curated is fully realized. Considerably establishing “Lines” as one of the stand out tracks on the album.

This later transitions into another stand out track on the album titled “Money N The Power”. This song is indicative of the premise of the whole album the centerpiece of the album if you will. This reinstates the concepts of the album elaborating on pain, betrayal, and why is heart is hardened as a result. Camari rhymes “Sick of all the lies man, sick of broken hearts, every time I find a girl, shit just falls apart”.

“News ii” sonically is one of the most compelling tracks on the album. This has the contemporary filtered ambient vibe, coupled with murmurs in the background primed for one to divulge their inner dissonance.

“Boys Don’t Cry” represents tough love derived from male toxicity often misinterpreted and pain unresolved. This album embodies these precepts being crude, sinister and very dark album filled with thoughts of paranoia. Enveloped with paranormal vibes, one must command Camari for being an aberration in this modern day of contemporary music. Camari was able to construct a cohesive body of work. From beginning to end every song is elaborative and has a purpose yet interweaves with one another effectively. The concepts were well thought and executed to give the listener an authentic experience.
